Fuel Additives

Hey there, I was wondering If anybody out there is running fuel additives such as Cetane Improvers and Diesel Fuel Conditioners. If so what brand are you using and have you noticed a difference in how your truck performs such as running smoother, starting easier, better fuel mileage etc.

Also, can you mix the two, the conditioner and cetane improver?

I run Stanadyne Performance Formula every tank. In summer I don't notice any difference. In winter it does make the truck start easier and with less white smoke.

Thumbs up Lubetec

Lubetec for me. I use their Premium Diesel Conditioner and have for about 2 years.

I noticed about 1 -1.5 MPG increase which when you do the math, costs me nothing to add. The increased mileage pays for the product. It does help with smoke, startup and smooth running. I added it to my buddies DMAX and if you can believe it, it makes it quieter too.

Very happy with this product. I have run Stanadyne, Power-up(Maryn), FPPF, Howes and Lucas along the way.

Ya know, I haven't tried it. I was also eyeing up their lube additive for the diffs anyway. The oil additives out there always seem profess alot but its hard to prove or dis-prove it does what it says

I usually use the White bottle, but on a recent trip up to Duluth, I used the silver bottle. I got about 15mpg pulling 2 ATV's on a light snowmobile trailer (using the white bottle). I got 18mpg this last trip (empty) using the silver bottle. I honestly think it added about 2 miles per gallon. I bought two while I was at the station, they were only $4 each for the 100gallon bottles. I found my new favorite Time will tell how it affects in the next few tanks....
