That's it then. If a salesman said it, then it IS true.

So, what does all this prove about automotive salesmen? That most of them don't know much, except how to lie convincingly. Let's face it, most automotive buyers are not nearly as knowledgeable as us "motorheads" here on the this board. Would any of you ask a salesman anything about a vehicle you were interested in buying? I can't remember the last time I bought a new vehicle that I didn't know MORE about it than the salesman. With me, they are order takers only. I buy for employee price, so even price is not an issue. I admit that when I got rid of that doggy '03 1500 hemi and bought my '04, I did a tradein. I advertised my '03 extensively, but never got a single call on it.The dealer was having a hard time getting hemis, so he was glad to get a beautiful flame red QC, 20" wheels, low miles on his lot. Gave me a good price for it. He sold it for near MSRP!

I used to carry one of these with me when I stepped into a Dealer showroom.
They asked me to leave it outside because the needle kept moving so fast it would blow all the papers off of the desks.

I think the best thing that I have ever heard was when I was in the local truck stop ( Loves) and I got into a full blown argument with a trucker over Ferd owning Cummings and how Ford had to go through and redesign the cummins engine and injectors ( Aren't the injectors made by bosch or something? lol) It took the manager pulling it up on the internet for Him to even show him he was an idiot. It just goes to show that people CAN be brainwashed. Stupidity is a horrible disease....

My neighbor just told me that ford owning Cummins thing last night. He was dead serious too. I'll have to print out that statement from the Cummins site & show him, since telling a 60 yr old guy to "get his facts straight" isnt the best strategy.

so I wonder how many people ford paid to spread that rumor? Sure did work.

I wonder when people forgot what logic is? Why would a truck company that owns a diesel company outsource the diesel engine for their top of the line truck? Just to confuse us? you can't fix stupid
