More incredibkle news on this product.
They discussed problems with the old 6.0, well known. They like the 68 db at 70 mph. Very nice interior.

Ford is obviously not trying to buy any customers here!
Pitiful price & fuel economy. The tow rating seems pretty poor too. No 450 here.
Let the fun begin!

Yeah - I saw that too - typical writeup I'd expect from a CAR magazine. I'm not knocking their reviews of cars - especially the higher performance ones, but they really can embarrass themselves when they try to do meaningful truck reviews. And yes, I am a subscriber to the magazine.

And TWELVE mpg? Sheesh.... I think they got the 8 mpg EPA rating for the V10 or something, since I don't think the EPA is even rating the diesels yet, are they?

But Twelve mpg observed by C&D? Wow...

They are not know for their fuel economy techniques. Usually full throttle.
They are not a truck mag, but SUV's & trucks are not that disimilar.
Let't not forget the price of this beast! I guess if you pay list for this, 12 mpg or whatever means little.

Here's an even better one. In the September 2007 issue of Consumer Reports they did their first ever test of heavy-duty pickups. They compared a Silverado 2500 against a Ford F-250 against a Ram 2500, all with automatics and turbodiesels. Towing a 7400 lb trailer, the Silverado got the best highway mileage at just over 10 mpg. The Ram was next at 10 mpg and the Ford was last at less than 9 mpg. All three pickups receive a thumbs-down rating..."a dreadful ride", etc. - but that's about what I expected from Consumer Reports. I'm sure none of the trucks had an adequate break-in period before the test. I'm also sure my Ram would get a lot better than 10 mpg towing only 7400 lbs.

Yeah, if Consumer Reports wasn't so high on Japanese vehicles in particular and imports in general Toyota and Subaru stock would probably take a nose-dive. Makes me wonder how much money these companies contribute to C. Reports. Most of the Toyota legend is based on CR's 'research' from what I've seen. My 2¢.

CR are nothing but a bunch of tree hugging, golbal warming monger, moonbat commie pinkos. I wouldn't believe anything they write, even last weeks baseball scores.

If it ain't a Toyota or Honda hybrid weenie car, they dump all over it.

The '08 Super Duty King Ranch that I drove felt MUCH slower than that, to be honest. REALLY nice truck inside and out, but a DOG off the line...That tow rating sounds about right for a 3/4 ton class pickup...gives it a GCWR of 20,620lbs...
