Ford 7.3 N/A
I had a 93 F350 Crew Cab Dulley with the 7.3 IDI engine. Put 168,000 on it. Had 4:10 gears and was automatic.
Changed the tranny at 135k. Rebuilt one injection pump. Added the Banks Stinger Turbo to it at 8PSI. It ran great after the tubor installation.
Left me on the side of the road once 150 miles from Mobile Al on RT65 at midnight. The belt tensioner came apart. Other things to chase all the time is Glow Plugs. If the Glow Plug light comes on and goes off within a second, you've got more than 3 burnt out glow plugs. Never used very much oil, and did everything I asked it to. Towed 13000lbs with it on the bumper at 55 in 3rd gear.
The best thing you can do for driveability is to have the TPS adjusted correctly. When its set right using voltage readings at the injection pump, you can hardly feel the tranny shift. The Banks Trans Command works good on there as well.
That truck is still out there with 280,000 on it now, hauling a welding rig.
