Factory Recalls

Is there a list out there that gives all of the factory recalls for a particular truck. I have found alot of different sites that say they do, but different info is on each one of them. I'm having the problem with my headlight switch on my 99 and I know I read somewhere that it was a recalled item, but the dealer thinks I'm nuts. does anyone have just 1 official site I can print off and shove across his desk. Luv my truck, but may I never do business with a Dodge dealer again.

Re:Factory Recalls

As far as a recall my dealer said if it has not been done they will complete any recall if your on the list of vehicles.<br>I even had the throttle recall done twice on my truck,a service man said it didnt look correct 4 months after it was done, so the second dealer redid it for free.<br>If you go to your dealer he can pull up all the info and recalls on your truck and give you a printout of them.

Re:Factory Recalls

I'm thinking they will do them no matter what. I had a '93 Ford Ranger, and when all the Firestone tire recalls were going on, I got a notice to get them changed on recall. Like the stock tires would've still been on the thing after 7 years.... : Usually the recalls are for safety issues, so I would assume you could sue the pants off of them and the federal gov't would slap 'em silly with a fine if they did not take care of the problem. I could be wrong though.... <br><br>Tony

Re:Factory Recalls

Yeah they will still do the recalls. My truck is a 1994. I have like 7 against my truck. I went to the dealer and had him print all of the options and what my truck is equiped with. When they get your Vin # they can print the info. and what recalls you have. I know for sure that I had a recall on my throttle cable, hood latch, seat belt and a few other. hope that helps -Anthony

Re:Factory Recalls

AFAIK, recalls are valid for the life of the vehicle, since they're safety related.<br><br>Here's another great site for TSB's, recalls and other ram info.<br>http://www.dodgeram.org/

Re:Factory Recalls

Just for information. Some states now are making owners take vehicles in for recalls to be done and signed off by dealers before vehicles can be re registered. Happened to my brother on his truck and wifes van.
