I wouldnt get out of it what Iv got into it.
Best part is its paid for and I dont want or need another bill.
Well, I lied.
Sold the truck on Saturday.
Actually traded it for something else.
I think I do regret it but its too early to tell.
However, I did stay in the family. Sortof.
Question now is what am I going to do with the left over 2 stroke?
Heres what replaced the truck.

Well, I just got mine so no!

However, I will admit because (right now) most of my driving is in town, I wish I had a beater to be able to do quick runs to the corner store (its just far enough not to walk) and things like that. I'm thinking about just supplementing that thought with a Motorcycle, which I've wanted for a while anyway.

Other than that, I love it. Its huge, so is interesting in parking lots (I just tend to park far out...I love exercise, so no biggie), and I can't fit it in the local car wash because of the mirrors, but thats what bought it for! To be a big truck that runs great with the best engine I've ever had!

Not tryen to get you down, but I hope you have much better luck with your 4 door than we have had with ours. They wifes Jeep is very doggy, and the wind drift is horrible. The number one thing we dislike the most is the noise. I realize its an SUV and not a Caddy, but the top vibrates and rattles, whistles and moans. As we put more and more miles on it, it seems to get louder and louder. I hope yours turns out great and you have no issues with it.

There was a point when i was going to trade mine for an '08 Gmc Canyon, but when they offered me $4,000 for my Dodge, that put an end to that.

A few days later we got 8" of snow, so at that point, having my Dodge with bad vp44, leaking tires, bad lp, and 4 wheel drive, didnt sound too bad.

Now i have the tires, vp44, and lp all replaced, runs like a Cummins should, no regrets about not trading it in.

Now the bar that i am working on for a headache rack, to bolt my 12 strobe Whelen Edge light bar to...... i am about ready to scrap that and buy a headache rack.

Took me 20 years to get my first Cummins, not likely I'll get bored of her. Sometimes she sits for a few days getting moved around the driveway so I can get closer to the shop to run the welder on the back, other times sits under the tree for a few days getting birdie bombed. Either way, everytime I get in a turn the key I smile.

If a tahoe is what your eyeing the Cummins probably...most likely gets better fuel mileage.

Regardless of what vehilce you get

"long after the honeymoon with the vehicle/house is over (wake up america), the payments will keep coming"

Learning to be content and realizing materialism will never ultimately make you happy is wisdom indeed.

My truck is not everything i would like. However, when I pull my camper/boat. I know why I have a cummins. For me its about a heavy duty truck that pulls like a diesel to get the job done. driving a cadillac truck is to expensive for my lifestyle. I used the money I saved by buying used to stay a extra day in the mountains.

When I think about getting another truck, I realize that my truck is paid for and gets me from point A to point B. It hauls just about anything I want it to. I can't ask for much more out of it.

Can't say i lost interest, it just got pushed off to the side. Bought a couple of new toys last year. Prowler side by side and a Challenger. Add this on to the Harley that i allready had, and well it equals no $$$$. Still have a big wish list for the truck, need to keep it to tow the 5vr. Slowly picking away at the mods, but it's hard to pick on what toy to carry on with.
Even with all the other stuff, it is still nice to jump in the old girl and go for a ride. Even the kids still prefer to ride in the man van over the wife's SUV. My little 3 year old says it's got horsepower daddy. Disclaimer horsepower only works when you push the garage door opner on the overhead and mash the throttle. They can be so cute.

I would sell mine, if I didn't need it to pull my fifthwheel. I like traveling , and camping too much though.

My truck is deffinently a love hate relationship.

Most days I love the thing. Plenty of power, sounds good, looks good, drives good. Can't complain. And it's paid for.

But then I hear about some new fancy gadget, or someone making a big dyno number, and worst of all, go to a sledpull.....
Thats when I start to get cranky. Wishing I could bomb it out completly for sledpulling or just make a name with a big 1000hp dyno queen. But it wouldn't be to good for towing the trailer, or the honeydoos at home depot. I have an S10 that does most of my commuting. So I get the conflict of having a truck that sits in the shed most of the year, and not enough coin to really do what I want with it, and the thought that it's $15,000 sitting there loosing value all the time.
But I think i'll just trudge along with what I have, maybe my ship will come in some day and you will all know my name, because of the amazing things I did with an old '03 cummins. Time will tell.
