Diesel Place
They say the duracrap is the best diesel motor on the market & King of the numbers wars
But the cummings

I beg to differ I have been through 3 and every one I have owned has been a dang good truck

Most over there eat, sleep and dream Maxipad. You will never get 98% of them to even say or spell the name of Dodge and or Ford as to them those are cuss words. If you want to make them PO'ed ask them how come they are having so many over heating problems on the 2nd gen Duramax and yet Cummins does not and never will
Since meeting the Owner of the Diesel Place web site last weekend I can assure you that the thread in question was just talk.
Duramax is the only serious competition that us Cummins guys have and they have a right to be proud of that! Even if it takes 8 to do the job of 6

Before the LBZ D-Max came out, it was a different story in there. Everyone was complaining about overheating; I was trying to get answers about my horrible fueling problems. Many, inclouding myself, jumped ship to Mopar.
The LBZ is a high point for the Duramax. We'll see how the LMM shakes out with all the emmissions junk on there.
I can say for certain that the fit and finish of the '06 Dodge is well ahead of the Chevy, and the Cummins motor is superior. They got the tranny, we got the engine.
AND... Megacab for cab size.

Now there are just as dedicated morons
on this website too, who will go to their graves stating DODGE IS KING!!! LOL.......I use my truck HARD, beating around fields and pasture fields, pulling wagons and GNs all the time. And while the truck does pretty well (the motor is awsome) I will have to give it to GM as far as a tough rig goes. Now my ony experience with GM trucks is 84-93 models, and they can't be beat!! My last one an 89 3/4 ton went 270k with the only prob being one caliper, and one water pump, granted it was a 350, but I can't say that for the 3 Dodges I have owned. Head gaskets, lift pumps, injection pumps, can't keep a front end in em to save your life, fifth gear nut.....etc....etc.....But still I put it to the test and it fairs pretty good! Now the new Chevys I don't know but none of the new trucks seem to be built tough anymore (i.e. very few working mans/farm trucks) Sorry I know not what this thread was about. But the bottom line is they all are overpriced, over engineered, and overrated!

I don't need somebody else's approval. Nobody cares what I drive, why should I care what they drive? Maybe we should all have the same looking wives! Then no one will "disaprove" of what >I< am driving! Do you really want/need peer reinforcement? Rich
There are only two reasons I am in a 06 Dodge the biggest is the deal they made me! ten grand less than the chevy and the cummins.... other wise I would be in a bow tie... they would be sending me payments to drive a Ford
My neighbor just bought a Duramax.. It is a VERY VERY nice truck.. I was impressed with it .. the ride is excellent it even kinda looks nice... he was looking at dodge and really wanted a cummins but with is 6'1 son that rides in the back seat and Dirt bikes he needed a Mega Cab long bed.. Since they didn't make he bought the Chevy..
Me I looked at both when I was truck shopping.. Didn't like the IFS so I went with the Cummins and straight axle.. It was just wrapped in a dodge body..

Well if they're saying the Cummins is a good motor, at least they haven't lost respect. Maybe they're scared.
They have to trash Dodge somehow otherwise they'd feel like they're inferior. Since they can't diss the engine, they take it out on the truck.

dura????????????????
moron smoron. use what works for you. 30+years in business with out them i would have gone hungry. with a little time i could dig up the records to prove it. went dodge in 1962 and never looked back. have NEVER blown a head gasket on a v/8 chry. engine. raced them for 12 years. nothing left to say.
