one or two piece driveshaft ??
1998 Dodge 2500 extended cab shortbox 5 speed
I am taking a 1997 Dodge 2500 extended cab,long box 2wd cummins 5 speed and cutting the frame and putting on a short box. Just need to know if I just need a driveshaft from a 1998 quadcab will work or If I can shorten the 2 piecer I have

 

I would use a one piece driveshaft, way less problems.
The standard cabs came with one piece.
Not sure if the rear shaft on a two piece setup would be long enough or if you would need a new shaft.

Not sure in that year but my '01 QC SB 2WD is a one piece aluminum drive shaft.

It has to be aftermarket.
Only the standard cabs came with a one piece until about '07.

 

My 02 Q/C SB had a one piece from the factory. I turned it into 2 while towing
RJohnson's 02 Q/C LB has a two piece from the factory.
