i dont care what anyone says. thats impressive. thats 155THOUSAND. THOUSAND POUNDS. i dont think just any full size 4x4 could do it. it would just bounce around at the end of that tow strap like a hyper jack russel at the end of a sort leash

I dont think that dodge pulled it anywhere. If you look close by the tires it looks like he did a 6x6 burnout in the dirt. I dont think the dodge has enough weight to pull something that heavy. That being said if it did I am sure it could pull it. Just me.

Where is used to work at the stone quarry, we could push loaded Cat 769C rock trucks around pretty easily on flat ground with an old Lull forklift that had a straight 6 chrysler gas engine that ran horribly. once its moving, it not hards to keep it

I can see the Dodge pulling the dump, especially on flat ground. But I wanna know what the tow strap is rated for. I have see that pic before, and have always wondered that.

I wouldn't worry about the strap.......we've got 20ton straps in our shop. and those have a 4 or 5:1 safety factor built in. and I'm sure you can get heavier.

I have to disagree as well. That is no 20 ton strap. I have a few of them, and they are no where near 30 feet long. Thats a plain jane truck stop type strap, and Im willing to bet, that strap would snap before anything got moving, since there would be a level of jerking involved to overcome the inital inerta. I also look at the fact that rock truck being on loose ground has sunk-even maybe an inch or few, which would also add to the difficulty to getting any traction on the loose ground.

I have a 175 michigan front end loader, and tried doing the same thing, it never really budged, and its a little smaller than the rock truck. My cable finally gave way(because I kept having to jerk forward). To me, there is no possible way that light of a truck can get that much traction on that loose of mine pit flooring to get the rock truck rolling, and surely with a Truck stop type strap.

NO thats claiming it was level ground, who knows maybe once they release the brakes in the rock truck, it starts rolling on its own . Last time I checked there was no method of levelness for a pit floor.

Maybe the dually got stuck and they used the dump truck to pull it out. Actually, the lift pump probably failed and killed the VP44 and they had to move the dually with the dumper!

I predict that very soon we will have a post telling Jory that the CR engines don't have a VP.

Who would drive a VP truck anyway
