This is all i could find , nothing on a HEV 2500?

Large trucks - Ram 4500 and 5500

Dodge is reportedly moving into the medium duty truck segment, re-activating a pre-takeover plan. No word on how this will come out since it probably wouldn't have a universal-style frame. “ccox” wrote (edited):

The truck will be a dual badge unit- Dodge and Sterling. It will use Dodge sheet metal and a Dodge cab. The frame is Sterling (Freightliner) engineered and built, and gross vehicle weight will be offered from 13,500 to 19,500 pounds. The Cummins "B" 6.7 liter engine will provide motorvation, while the NV5600 six-speed manual transmission and an automatic will put power to the wheels. Cabs will probably be standard and quad. Styling is definitely Ram-based. Eventually, a Mercedes diesel and the Chrysler automated manual transmission may be added. Sterling is also getting a rebadged Fuso, while Freightliner will drop the Sprinter (which will only be sold by Dodge) in 2007; and Freightliner is preparing a replacement for the Sprinter, the MT35, designed to fill the Sprinter’s role but engineered for American needs and whims.

Never mind , i found it:

http://www.dodgeboy.net/news/ramhev/

Looks like DC is really stepping up to the plate with high tech , yet useful vehicles , while GM is going bankrupt selling (decent , at least the duramax) vehicles , but i beleive they are too high in price , and have alot of features people don't need, and they keep getting uglier.

I just dont think starting up/shutting down all the time is good for diesels...or turbo's. It may be great, but ill stick with the 12 valve

Isnt most of the wear and tear that is done to an engine in the first few minutes of operation due to oil starvation? With a small engine its not as long because there isnt as far for the oil to travel but with the cummins, I see about 15 seconds sometimes before the oil pressure builds up.

Hev

thanks for the web address JKM... i think DC should get there act together and let the general public be able to BUY a HEV if they want. so once again they go after the "FLEET" owners????? i see one point...... sell 10+ trucks at a wack. ok good , but what about the contractor like myself that wants one???? back in 04 DC only released about a 100 "proto types" to fleet owners... from what i was told through channles, was DC didn't get the "feedback" they were exspecting? so they stopped production? and now almost 2006 they start again, selling to FLEET owners/buyers????? anyone with anymore inside information including price would be cool...

I NEED THIS TRUCK FOR WORK!!!!!!.....oops i don't think DC heard me...lol

The part about it being a generator sounds cool. If it could power 4 households, I guess it would easily be able to operate power tools or a welder or something.
