General Diesel Discussion Talk about general diesel engines (theory, etc.) If it's about diesel, and it doesn't fit anywhere else, then put it right in here.

Just traded my 06 3500 with 60k miles on it for a new 2010 3500. They gave me 27k on trade. Hell I only paid 34k for that 06 brand new almost 5 yrs ago! So I only lost 7k dollars in almost 5 yrs.

What did they say in dieselpower about the DPF diesels?

Anyway, I'll probably be hanging onto my truck. Don't feel like having another car note after this one for awhile. I also have a daily driver Accord that I like to drive around making my daily stops.
It is nice seeing they hold value though, I'm sure this truck will go to pasture as a ranch truck or whatever one day.

Exactly why we decided to buy a few years earlier than we had first planned. When I found out that all that smog BS was going on the engines and then increasing the displacement too of the engine...it was time to pull the trigger...

Funny we should be discussing this ....

My wife and I just got a letter in the mail, it seems the local dealer wants to buy our '06 from us. Honestly they couldn't afford the price I'd put on mine.

I'll see if she's still got it, and I'll post a picture of it on here.

That's just a sales pitch to get you to come in the door.

I got a letter from our local dealer a couple weeks ago asking the same. Also sent me a $5000 check to put towards a new truck after buying mine. I still have mine. Don't want a new truck or payment. only got 26 payments left and that is it for me

I think I've got about 10 more payments than you, but I hear ya. I've got two really good trucks ...... there's just no way I'm gonna give them up.
