Cool DieselTruckResource.com Dec '04 T.O.M.

Howdy Campers.
Another month has come and gone, and the Holiday Season is fast approaching.
I'm sure that we've all sent our "wish-lists" to Santa TOP so we'll all find the stuff we want when we open those boxes instead of socks, Fruit-of-the-Looms, hideous sweaters, or bad aftershave.
Of course we've ALL been good this year so there's no chance of seeing that lump of coal. (Plus TOP is getting a little slower in his advanced age so he's easier to hit with that lump.)

With all that out of the way, it's time to get down to business.
We've been having a rough time choosing from all the sweet "Sleds" in the Member's gallery.
But we managed to pick another fitting winner.

And without further ado (and some would add, further doo-doo)

The members of the TOM committee, Ed, Joel and Dennis, along with our TOM sponsor
Forest City Diesel
are happy to announce that the winner of the
DieselTruckResource.com
Truck Of the Month
award for
December2004

is:

Richard Martin
AKA
Gypsyman

click on the picture to link to his Member's Gallery

Congratulations to Gypsyman from the T.O.M committee.
His winner's plaque will be on it's way from Keith at Forest City Diesel as soon as we get his mailing info.

Get those galleries updated.
You might be chosen as next month's DieselTruckResource.com Truck Of the Month.

You go Richard.

He never looks at the front page. Someone had better send him an e-mail or it will be 6 months before he realizes it.

Thank you gentleman! I couldn't have done it without all of the help found on these forums. For the first time in my life I don't know what to say. Guess you better enjoy that while it lasts.

Richard

p.s. AK, I'll deal with you later...

This is one of the best trucks I've ever seen. I was wondering why it was taking so long to get TOM status

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, either. Congrats!

Thanks John! I'm running a 4" downpipe and the 51" Donaldson. Sound great when the TST comes on and the sound level in the cab in perfect. Lot's of positive comment about the sound when I'm going cross country.

Ok Shovelhead! I can't thank all of you enough for choosing my girl for TOM. Without the DTR and all of the great members she wouldn't be where she is today. This is the 31st vehicle I've owned and without a doubt the most fun. I was bitten by the diesel bug back in '97 when I purchased a brand new 12v 2500 QC. When a job offer came up in Alaska I decided it was time for another diesel and with the help of this site the decision was an easy one. I had a very short time to find this rig and when I saw it I knew right there I didn't care about the options it did or didn't have, I would take care of that later. So with 500 miles on the odometer it was off to Alaska. The rest is history. Here's a run down of what she has so far and what's to come in our future...

Exterior

WAAG Brush Gaurd
Luverne Full Length Stainless Boards
Rhino Lined Bed
Mopar Rubber Flaps
Wingmaster Aerotravel Stainless Wing
Pro-Tech Aluminum Headache Rack
5" Chrome Stacks (thanks to Air Flow and their patient parts man Smitty!)
Aluminum Tool Box (with the back inverted to clear the stacks)
PML Black Powder Coated Covers Front and Rear
Hellwig Rear Sway Bar
B & W Turnover Ball
Factory Fogs (added)
Sport Grill (added)
Stainless Fender Trim

Interior

X-Monitor (fuel pressure, boost, egt)
FoCal Speakers
Alpine 200 Watt Amp
Jordan Ultima Controller (thanks Jordan, best I've ever towed with!)
Nokia Hands Free Kit
Modded Drivers Seat
Painless Fuse Panel (hinged the center kick panel for easy access)

The Heart of the Matter

TST Power Max CR (thanks to member AK Ram)
vanAaken C3.1 Pressure Box (thanks to E.T.R. Diesel Performance)
B1-04 Set to 42 lbs (thanks to Lenny at Dynomite Diesel Performance and Ken at TAD)
Carter 4601HP (on the bench for when the snow melts)
Scotty's Pusher Pump Adapter
SBC Con OFE (again thanks to Dynomite Diesel Performance)
Drilled Air Box
AirAid MIT
Jacobs Exhaust Brake
4" DPPI Down Pipe
51" Donaldson Muffler (5" out to the stacks)

Plans for the upcoming summer are a Kelderman full air ride and Piers towing twins (right now I'm really happy with the performance of the B1-04). If I don't go with twins I have all the pieces on the bench for a custom 6" outlet AFE in a diamond plate enclosed air box. I'm in the process of changing out the WAAG for a Westin chrome Bull Bar with driving lights and she'll get debadged when the weather permits.

Again a big "Thank You" goes out to all of the great members here who took the time to answer questions and pass on information and a special thanks to Brian (AK Ram) for all the help during the build up of this truck and the testing of parts to get her where she is.

I couldn't have done it without you gentlemen,

Richard
