Diesel fuel alternatives.
I have a couple of questions. My truck description is on my sig.
1. Is it possible to buy new vegetable oil (bulk) and make your own bio diesel and come out ahead?
2. Will a Cummins run on jet fuel with no damage to the engine or the injector pump?
3. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Looks like a lot of incomplete info .
There are many grades / types of vegi oil , all different prices , buying in bulk & looking for non food grade with drastically reduce cost of feedstock , most home brewers are getting waste cooking oil for free , but that is starting to change , used to be the resterants paid a few cents to get rid of , then they may have gotten a few cents for it , now I have seen up to .65 per gal checks going to restrants .
I still have a bunch that still give it for free .
The with your 02 VP pump , jet fuel / kerosene is for emergencies only and only with added lube additives .
As for making , it depends on your methods & equipment , but I know of some making for as little as .40 gal but a good low average is .70-.80 , with equipment cost of under $1,500 , lots of room to call savings , a good wage .

smartest thing i did a little over a year ago was- me and a buddy started making bio diesel- we both have diesel trucks and heat our homes with heating oil, we make the bio on average for 1.40 a gallon (that includes our cost of going and picking it up) we run it in our trucks and heat our homes with it. saved 4000.00 grand last year-between diesel and heating oil i did not have to buy!!!!_

converting to run veggie oil isnt cheap and it requires a lot of labor. Might not even work reliably on a VP44 or newer higher pressure systems.
Biodiesel from veggie oil is okay but the cost of the methanol can make it not worthwhile. Methanol was up to 350$ a barrel not long ago.
Honestly a lot of people would do better finding some consulting on the side at a couple hours a week at good pay.. that would pay for the difference right there instead of investing more time in making the fuel.
Dont forget to de-water any fuel you collect or make for use in the truck.
