Diesel Conversion.

Hello to all. This is my first post on this forum & I figured this was the place to ask this; Just FYI, I do own a Tweaked out CTD Dually but my other old truck that I am very fond of is a '78 Ford Crew-Cab SB 4x4. I've had this truck a long time, and have put alot into it. I'ts quite the off-roader. Several years ago, I did the 460 conversion which was great. Well...It's not cutting it now with fuel prices.
OK. Back to business. Last week I picked up a '99 Powerstroke eng, trans(at), and transfer case with 60k on it. It also came w/radiator, intercooler, wiring harness, and ECM. I would like to install this in my Ford. I don't forsee a problem getting it all in, just worried about the electronics. I know what it takes to run a 12 or 24V CTD, but the Powerstroke is new to me. If anyone knows the answer, or knows someone who has done this, Plz let me know. I want to keep this as simple as possible. Thx in advance.

You'll get much better info on a Ford forum. The best one out there is The Diesel Stop. Not trying to get rid of you, just referring you to the experts.

Why not put a Cummins in your Ford? Everybody wants a truck w/ that combo, but nobody makes one, so they're like gold.

I would rather do the Cummins conversion, but I picked up the Powerstroke hardware w/60K on it for almost nothing.

Sounds like a cool project. Should be 2 modules, an ECM and an IDM (Injector Driver Module). Lotsa wiring, but if there's room, it should be doable. Good luck.
