I'm gonna put slick 50 in mine then if I get out in the middle of the woods and knock a hole in th oil pan, I can just go ahead and drive It. I seen them run those slick 50 oiled motors on the infomercial. No oil at all for 30 min sorry I couldn't help myself

I was really just being sarcastic... I too have never heard of mixing the two weights and see zero benefit of mixing synthetic with conventional, the weakest link thing comes to mind. To each his own.

Bigern24 - i was with ya, I thought it was funny =] Went over some ppl's heads. Mixing the two is one of the sillier things I've heard, but to each his own is right!

Synthethic blends are common-place in gas engines. Somewhere I had read that many of the benefits of a synth can be had for a much lower price. Don't know if I buy that, but the Ford/motorcraft oil that is suggested for my explorer is a blend, as is some of the motorcycle oils I've seen.

I've not heard of people intentionally blending them themselves.

LOL, yeah there are plenty of synthetic blends - like ROTELLA T SYNTHETIC, CASTROL SYNTEC, etc They like to call themselves synthetics though. Honestly though, in the case of the gentleman who was mixing it on the last page - I think he might as well just use rotella synthetic or one of the cheaper group 3 oils. I'm sure they do a better job of blending and matching the additive package to the base oil than just randomly mixing two oils and hoping for the best... Oh well everyone has their own ideas on oil. I prefer to just dump extra sexy delvac 1 in my crankcase

Sure, now that "Tuna fish sandwich" has taken off, what else can you do if you don't want to smell like *every other guy*?

LOL, I knew I was gonna take some crap for that comment. Love that delvac. Keep it sacred for the diesels though, not sure it could ever top the lovely Rosmella, so I dont' even try and just use conventional aftershave
