I tried it last night on my way home (covering the little hole with my finger) and It worked. Took less time to get it full and it was really full. Since I used my finger and didn't have gloves I even got to smell diesel for the rest of the night... .

I tried it today and when I put my finger over the hole the pump kicked off like it was full???? I dont know this makes a difference but I filled up at a truck stop(where I usually do) and they have the high flow pumps or whatever. I didn't have it on full blast, just enough to pump fuel and not spray it everywhere. I'll try it again sometime and maybe at a regular pump if I get a chance.

Yeah, I tried it at work and the same thing happened. I'll try it at a public pump and see what happens.

I tried it today, it did the same thing. Kicked out like it was full, gotta do it a couple of times. When I did it two times consecutively, it worked like a charm!
I'll bet I got two gallons more in my tank than I usually do. Thanks for the tip.

It's all in the "squeeze" fellas!!...You gotta be gentle when you start the flow! And sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get it going. Sometimes I have had to start the flow normally then cover the hole (geez, I think I'm getting aroused) I also find it helps if you rest the nozzle tip at an angle at the top of the filler neck. Seems to make it a little easier to cover the hole and watch the flow. I have a 12v pump in my slip tank and the nozzle has no shutoff sensor, hence no hole. I always wondered why the dyed never foamed? Now I know

I just filled up and WOW! that its the slickest trick I've seen in quite awhile.
The pump clicked the first time (hole uncovered) , then I covered the hole and proceded to fill at about 1/4 flow all the way to the top of the neck.
Took about 5 minutes less than foam and wait.

Thanks.

As is every one else I am going to try this trick. I can usually get about 4 gallons in after the first shut off and 15 minutes later. I've been wondering if there was a way to get the foam stopped.

Wow. Thanks for the tip.
Might get one of those fuel guard protective flap from Geno's to cover the hole with.

Will they be available in Pink?

Seriously though good idea. I hate waiting for the foam to dissipate when I’m filling up.

What the heck!? After years of messing and reading this is the first time I have heard of this! Is there really an issue with foaming? Am I to understand that everytime the pump clicks off and I top off I'm really short a few, or more, gallons? Whats more important to me is, is the pump gallons reading accurate? Am I getting what I paid for? I guess I will have to try it. But I like the (glow in the dark) rubber hose over the nozzle idea (of coarse for those night time fill ups). Seems less messy.

Doesn't cutting off the foam cut down on the amount of air in your fuel? I thought that you needed all the air you could get? Otherwise why have a turbo.
