Cummins Recalling Lift Pumps
Cummins Recalling Lift Pumps
As of the July 1, 2005.
Campaign # C0504
Cummins Inc. is conducting a recall of ISB engines, model year 1998 to model year 2002 (which includes engines mfg. between 1996 and 2003), installed in school buses, transit buses, and emergency vehicles in the US and Canada due to a possible problem with the lift pump. (LOL...ya think) Cummins Inc. has determined that a small percentage of these engines may experience a stall condition.
It also looks like along with the recall, they are installing a pressure switch at the outlet of the fuel filter and running into the 23 pin OEM connector and recalibrating the ECM for the changes so the check engine light will illuminate when pressure drops. (Its about time dont ya say?)
Again, for now this is only on school buses, transit buses and emergency vehicles.
