The Cummins to come

Does anyone know if Dodge has plans to increase the power of the cummins to compete with the new 6.7 powerstroke from ford to be out later this year?

i think they are waiting for final ratings from ford's new engine.

OR

dodge's current rating with the 6.7 is right on the verge of emissions legal. IF they go any higher with the ratings they might need urea.

It sure is. Ford retained the name Powerstroke. Its just not a Powerstroke from Navistar.

Yeah, the 6.7 PowerStroke was codenamed "Scorpion" and Ford has officially announced they will be keeping the name "PowerStroke."

On another note, does anyone know for sure if the new Ford engine will require the use of urea to meet emissions standards?

I believe it will, pickuptrucks.com has a picture showing a green diesel fuel cap with a smaller blue cap next to it for "diesel exhaust fluid"

Yeap, Urea for Ford and Chevy. As far as horsepower wars. Who cares. Get the fuel mileage up and keep the power up. The Cummins would get better fuel mileage with urea but it would be an added cost. So it may be be just a wash.

They had to call it diesel exhaust fluid because they figured the typical PS owner would fill his Urea tank at the bar...........

I remember back in college joking about things like changing your exhaust fluid and blinker reservoirs out, sheesh now it is real. Pretty soon we will be replacing muffler bearings too. Thanks EPA I hope you rot in hell for your lies and control over us.

Are we sure that the 2010 Cummins will not have urea? I know they were saying the 6.7 met 2010 emissions, but.......

If not 2010 then 2011?

I may have to bite the bullet before that happens.
