Cummins 4.3L Marine Engine

Went by Cummins South in Savannah to pick up my yearly supply of filters and saw a Cummins 4.3L/Mercruiser engine there. That's the first time I'd seen a 4.3L Cummins out in the open. That would be a sweet engine in a SUV or Half ton pick up.

Yeah, DC oughta put this in the Dakota/Durango instead of that 4.7 liter sludge monster. Plug in an EZ and you're all set ;D.

DC is putting oil burners in Durangos for Europe and South America. It's the 4.2 l Cummins. I also think they use them in the mini-vans, but not sure about the PT Cruiser.

Re:Cummins 4.3L Marine Engine

My landlord owns three very large commercial crabbing boats that operate in the Berring Straight for King Crab (spelling?) anyway he runs big Cummins marine engines and is very satisified. No major repairs and well over 50,000 hours on each engine now. Now that's dependable! You don't want an engine to shut down when you're in 75+ft. swells in the middle of the icy straight! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Local Jeeper has one, something like that, in a WJ Jeep. Sure is a slick job and sounds awesome to boot! 8)
