Arrow Cummin in Agco Tractors!?!?!?!

I read an advertisement the other day and I swear it said Agco was running cummins in their new tractors. Can anyone confirm what I believe to be true??

Thanks

Which brand tractor?

They (Agco) apparently have their hands in ~ Massey Ferguson, Valtra, Fendt, AGCO Tractors, Challenger, Farmhand, Gleaner, Glencoe, Hesston, LOR*AL, New Idea, RoGator, Spra-Coupe, Sunflower, TerraGator, Tye, White Planters, and Willmar.

REF ~ http://www.agcocorp.com/default.cfm?PID=1.7

A search of the Agco corp website for "Cummins" comes up empty.

Here we go ~

Cummins Engines

Used in agricultural and construction applications, Cummins engines offer the right combination of reliability, durability, technology and toughness to help you reach your goals.

The QSC8.3, (pictured on this page), features exceptionally strong performance, high injection pressures and 24-valve design, producing a more complete combustion so consumers get more power and better fuel economy with lower emissions.

The LT and RT series tractors are powered by turbocharged Cummins B series diesel engines. The LT 70 and LT 85 utilize the four-cylinder, 3.9 L, 4BT3.9T engines, with the engine on the LT 85 tractor incorporating a Holset wastegate turbocharger. The RT series tractors are powered by six- cylinder, 5.9 L, 6BT5.9 engines. The LT 85 tractor incorporates a wastegate turbocharger.

Apparently they've been using Cummins for a while as the above article is copyrighted 2002.

we have an agco / white 6125 tractor here, 1996 model, with a 6bt 5.9 in it, used to run a brush cutter head, and tow a schulte mower.

good unit overall, and yes, they do use quite a bit of cummins power in their machines.

White tractors in the mid 80's had cummin's engines in them, White is now AGCO. Models 60 and 80 had the 4B(T). The 100, 125, and 145 had the 6B, 6BT, and 6BTA. The 185 had a 6CTA.

AGCO doesn't use Cummins in anything anymore! Everything that is coming off the assembly line today has either an AGCO engine (SisuDiesel from Finland) or a Perkins/CAT!

From 2000-2005 AGCO used Cummins in almost everything...tractors, Combines, windrowers, sprayers, etc! Cummins got too hard to deal with, so they quit using them! They are also the biggest buyer of Perkins/CAT engines in the world, so CAT is pretty easy to deal with!

Cummins got to where they couldn't get the engines they ordered, there service was terrible in parts of the country, and warranty work was a hassle! Now, with AGCO or Perkins/Cat in everything, us dealers can service the whole machine, instead of everything but the engine

Anymore AGCO questions?? I happen to be fairly knowledgeable on the subject Of course I would hope the #16 dealer in North America would be

Many different tractor manufacturers used Cummins engine, Versatile etc. used them way back in the 70's for high horse power 4wd articulated tractors.

The B 5.9 was actually a joint development by Case and Cummins.

Signature600 since you are very familiar with Agco running cummins maybe you can answer my next question. Can I use the oil filters that are on the Agco(or any of the other mentioned brands) on my cummins in my truck?

BTW I love Orange machines We run old Allis Chalmers equipment. 7010,7080, Gleaner L, and a handful of WC's WD's and WD45's and not to mention corn planter(model 333 I think) field culivator and tons of other stuff.

Signature 600 - did AGCO use the DT-466 IH engine for a while in the actual orange "AGCO" branded tractors in the mid '90's? I seemed to recall such a vechile after the Air-cooled Deutz engine was phased out. Would be neat to have an IH-engined tractor again....

Yep...I'll get the AGCO Part numbers for ya! We have a couple different ones...They are Fleetguards painted AGCO, so there is the Stratapore and Microglass filters!

I seem to think it's hard to beat the old Orange stuff...and the new stuff is even better
