conversion question

Once again, I need some advice. I have searched the forums, and have gotten some answers but decided to to take the direct approach and just ask. A friend of mine has a 80's Chevy c3500 western hauler crew cab. rare truck in good shape. I have this 97 motor and I was wondering how much it wold take to do a conversion....it would have to be four wheel drive. how much of a pain is the swap...does anyone have a conversion truck on dtr that could give me some info. Thanks. redwake

on the tdr sight you can visit the cummins/conversions section and if the page isn't too old, you can read about this exact swap. Also, Autoworld out of Great Falls MT offers motor mounts and acc. for this swap(this is what he has for a daily driver) There is some friction between Fordcummins and Autoworld (two MT companys that offer kits for conversions) so be warned some people get touchy on the subject

I have seen it done, an 86 rolled through my hometown with a Cummins. I had to turn off my truck to make sure I was hearing it right.
