Construction & Hot shot guys, need advice

First thing first, any one here know about how much a Case 450 Dozer weighs? Just need a rough estimate for now.

Second, how much do you hot shot guys charge to haul something like this? I have to take it about 70 miles one way, should be 50/50 interstate and county roads. Gonna do this for a guy at work, hes paying for the fuel, and then some "extra" for doing this. I just need to give him some numbers at work tomorrow.
Thanks,
DS79

Googling puts the Case at 12-13,000 lbs.

Will you be overweight? You bet. Can you tow it? Most definitely. If you get caught by the DOT, you WILL be in trouble...

I figured I would be overweight, but am not to concerned about it. I plan on doing this on a Saturday and staying away from the interstate. I may just use dads D600 and the tri-axle trailer just so I know the brakes and combo will be up to the task. Only problem with that is, I can only go 50-55mph. Now the only problem I have is what do or should I ask him to pay me? Might just do it as a $/hr rate instead of per mile, I think I will come out better on that deal.

If your not insured to do this job then be carefull.
Up here Hotshots are $1.75/km or $75-150/hr.

If your trying to make mony on this deal then I would walk away from it if your not properly insured to do it.

If your doing a favor for a friend and it is his private property and not used in a commercial business then I would have him pay for your fuel, buy you lunch and maybe a case or two of beer. Depending on how far you have to go.
If it is used in a commercial application then I would be charging delivery rates applicable in your local area.

I haul eqiupment like this all the time. $200 for pick up and 2.50 per mile. Just make sure that you have enough trailer to handle it and also to stop it.I never worry about hauling it , just stopping it on 7% grades. I use either my Tandam Duel trailer or my triple axle, Good brakes!!!!!

Its for a co-workers father. They use it on their land, not for a business. I know my dads D600 and our tri axle traler will be more then capable of handling the load and stopping it. I wouldn't do this if I wasn't going to come out ahead, my time wether at work or at home is to valuable to me. Leaning toward just charging him a hourly rate, that way if I have any issues loading or unloading I get reimbursed for it.
Thanks for all the replies,
