Chrysler and Ford Recall trucks, suv's and crossovers

http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2010/...est=latestnews

I think the steering issue should go down to at least 2006. I'm all over the road, and even worse when towing. Surprised I haven't been pulled over and given a sobriety test the way my truck tracks down the road. Ford on the recall also. Man, I should have never traded my perfectly good Chevy truck in for the headache I have now. Hurry up lemon law and lets get this over with.

its BS that the recall doesn't go back longer...people have been having serious steering issues with these trucks since 03!!!

for these trucks, the DW issue goes waaayy back, but 94 and up are more prone to it.

In ford trucks, leaf sprung units would DW given the right conditions, but moreso with altered suspension geometry. Lift kits, etc.

Yeah, time something was done.

Chrysler said it had received 86 complaints over three years
It sounds like not many people with this problem are saying anything, at least not to the right people.

If everyone who's posted about death wobble had complained to Chrysler and to the NHTSA...

I am pretty sure the recall has nothing to do with DW.

They made some really JUNK steering components and they are literally falling apart........

I file an issue w/NHTSA regarding the drop bracket made by skyjunker. A complete POS in which multiple calls and conversations w/skyjacker and no resolution or even somewhat reimbursement or replacement of their product.

"It has not received any reports of crashes or injuries."

That's why this keeps getting pushed on the back burner. The only thing we do have right now is a bunch of angry customers who've spent money replacing parts to "fix" the issues, and/or customers who've experienced DW and can record it. Guess they need blood on their hands before they do anything.

I'm going to dig but anyone know the steering linkage part # of the '08-11 trucks they're recalling?

Well here's where the "86 complaints" comes from on the Dodge trucks. It's for the 4500/5500 trucks. Looks like it'll be Chrysler campaign number K28.

One of the thing NTHS will have to look into is how may with DW have lifts 2-6 inches, bigger tires along with wider & bigger aftermarket wheels are things that may get blamed for causing DW.
