I have a Case 580 backhoe with a D188 diesel in it, I finished the head and have the head gasket kit here ready to go. I'd like to get this thing back together today/tomorrow.

What is the torque spec on the head studs? and what is the valve lash?

Case 580 that's just a Cummins 4bt ain't it? I could find out monday morning, but would not be able to post the info til' monday night if you don't get an answer by then. Although I think the only books we have at work are for the 580 M. Don't know if it would be the same, or what model you have. That may or may not make a difference.

 

Nope, not a 4BT, that wouldn't be a problem. I have cummins service manuals here. This is one of the first 580's with the Case diesel in it. I'm pretty sure its a 580B.

 

Man, If you would have posted just yesterday I could have told you. Dont know off the top of my head.
