The 03 Cummins gets a lot of attention! While camping this weekend I had numerous campers gawking at my truck. Several wanted to talk about the new Dodge. A Powerstroke owner couldn't believe the awesome sound of my Cummins without a muffler. He wishes his Ford sounded as good. A Duramax owner complained about the lack of towing power of his truck. Said after seeing my truck up close and hearing it drive by he was going to get one. I love driving this truck!

 

Yep, I had a similar experience in a campground a couple of weeks ago. I heard my 7-year old kid telling another kid that "his" truck had a new high power Cummins with three-thousand horsepowers!" . My wife didn't think it was as funny as I did, she thinks we both act the same age about the new pick-up. Of course, she has never pulled goosenecks with the old gassers, or had to pull over and unload because the tranny was over-heating and about to puke. > Man, I don't miss those days. ;D

 

:'(All I get is comments about "how pretty that truck is". Who wants a "pretty" truck? The only other comment is "that thing is sure quiet". Who wants a "quiet" truck. I only like the dually. I think the SRW looks like crap, too tall and narrow looking.

I prefer the old body style and noise!

But I'm Groucho.

 

My 12 year old son sits in the back seat on the passenger side with his window down so hear can hear the "semi sound" of the exhaust. When we go past something on the right side that projects the exhaust sound back toward us we just glance at each other and smile. We're both thinking the same thing..."this is so cool". It's a guy thing. My wife doesn't understand. I agree with the comment about DRW trucks looking better than SRWs. My opinion, not meant to offend anyone. I love the "stance" of the duallies. I think the 03 duallies are the best looking rig on the road. That's why I bought one.

 

Yeah, I had some guy walk past mine over the weekend while I was parked and tell me, annoyed "That's the loudest deezil I ever heard!" I smiled and said "Thank you for the nice compliment, I'm glad you like it" ;D ......Got em even more annoyed.

 

They really look when they hear mine with those two sewer pipes rising above the cab. Some like it and some don't. Sorry about that.

 

I pulled up beside a couple driving a Beemer in a parking lot.
First thing they both say to me as soon as I get out of the truck was; "Your trucks' too loud." I replied..."Huh?"

I have a muffler on it and it is not bad. So by coincidence
there we are getting into our vehicles at the same time...I managed to get mine started as they were talking about saving a tree or something and by accident the exhaust puffed some black. Never seen a pair move so fast to get into their cacoon.

So then there they are in the right hand lane that ends figuring they are gonna beat me and cut me off. HA HA HA NOT!
Not only did they get smoke, they got trapped in that lane til all the traffic passed. I feel bad.

Its one thing not to appreciate our trucks like that but to make comments to me like that when I am hungry is not going to make it a nice day for them. I figure, why bother commenting if you cannot take a reply. SMASH

Not many purple CTD's around - there's a girl at work that has one. She's got a big decal in the back window that reads "Badass girls drive Bad toys"....

You should have said "Yes it is loud. But you're ugly, at least I can turn off my truck when I get home".

 

Been sitting in a drive thru before and had the people in front of me tell me to turn my truck off cause they couldn't hear the speaker. I just smiled. ;D My favorite thing to do is to get by someone talking on his cell phone with the window down. They look at me, give me a disgusted look, and roll their window up. ;D

I know sometrhing I can put a price on.... My brother was using LP and he stomp'd it next to some car and since its LP it comes out and it has little droplets of water. Well that stains the paint and then starts to eat it. Needless to say it was $750 to get the car painted. But not out of my bro's pocket. ;D

 

And we wonder why people frown on diesel pickups... :
