If dodge was replacing the cummins with a mercedes then why did they redesign the cummins for the 07+ model year Dodges.

U are very correct, hoss. Im pretty sure I read somewhere that Ford bought a few shares of stock from Cummins, but some people take that as, "O Ferd has Cummins now!"

When did Furd divest(sell its shares) of Cummins??? Wasn't it something like 10 years ago almost???? This rumor gets perpetuated by Furd drivers knowing that they've got a substandard diesel in their vehicles!!! Must make them feel important/superior that the maker of their vehicle owns part of the company that makes the engine for yours!!!

it would make sense that DC would use Mercedes diesels in the cars, but noone in thier right mind would mess with the success of the CTD in dodge trucks

not even Dr Z....

It's the hope of the die-hard Ford owner that they too may someday have this great engine. Can't blame them for hoping and dreaming.

I know. I get so sick of hearing it. I had a friend (drives an 06 Ford flowerpoke ) tell me yesterday that Ford owns 40% of Cummins . He said his parts guy at the dealership told him so . This is so common that even Cummins has a link on their site disproving the rumor.
