On the bottle I have for my mower gas it doesn't say anything about being used with Diesel. So unless what you have said it can be used with diesel I would say no and find a product that is made to be used with diesel fuel.

I didn't think diesel needed any stabilization, I could be wrong.

Algae can grow in it eventually, and water will condense in the tank...so you'll need something. HEET usually works well to protect from water, and you can buy algaecide to protect from plants growing in it...but thats after months of it sitting. Check a tractor place, or a farm supply store.

As mentioned above, the big problems are algae and water. The best way to deal with water is to keep the tank real full. As far as algae goes, there are many products that can be found at both marine and farm stores like biocide. If you are someone who doesn't use it enough to have to refuel often, I think that running biocide once or twice a year is a good idea. I run it usually twice a year in my truck since it doesn't get driven very much during certain parts of the year.

If you are leaving it sitting, it's a good idea to put in a bit of diesel Heet and top off the tank before leaving it sit. In 6.5 years, I've not put one product into the tank of 96_12v except the diesel at hand, and I've never had a fuel-system related issue either, with the exception of the corroded return lines.

I did regurally use a fuel injection cleaner with a 5-cylinder Acura I had many years back, which struggled with hard cold starting with both premium and mid-grade gasoline. I also tried running Heet. It may have made some differance, but not much overall.
