Biodiesel in N. Virginia (Arlington)

FYI for those local to DC, the Citgo station near the Pentagon started selling bio this week. I think the street is Joyce Street. $2.38/gal.

Its a Navy Exchange, but I'm pretty sure they sell to anyone.

I wish I hadn't filled up the other day - I've been waiting to give that bio stuff a tryout.

Ed, they opened 15Dec04 and only sell B20. As I understand it, there is no commercial item description for B100 by DoD, just B20.

The good news is that it's public access for the alt fuels pumps only - no ID required to buy Bio.

I can't wait to burn up the 3/4 tank of fuel in the truck now, shoot I am even running errands for the ol' lady. Maybe i'll be able to get the "Buttered Popcorn" smell...

I'm hoping to run some bio thru my truck and see how it works.

If I like it, I'm thinking I might invest in a 55 gal drum and make a monthly('ish) run out to the Eastern shore and pick up 50 gal of B100 and mix my own B20 (or however the mix turns out).

I may be out barrel shopping in the new year .... plastic or steel; steel or plastic?

Also have to look into state sponsored rebates.

So in a nutshell, what's the difference between B20 and B100?

B20 is 20% bio/80% petrol; B100 is 100% bio fuel.

You'll have to wait for Lightman or someone else to chime in on the merits of each ....
