I'm going to have to agree with any one who said anything about the Smokey and the Bandit theme song "Eastbound and Down". The first time I drove from California to Delaware in my old Dodge, I had no radio and was by my self. I sang the song to my self all the way across and made it just under 4 days. Though I changed some words to fit my situation 18 turned in to 4 Big wheels. hehehe

Well, mine's not exactly a "diesel," song but it's pickup song. Garth Brooks' "Cowboy Cadillac," I think of his "Sevens" album:
"She loves to haul them cattle
All my ropes and saddle
And it doesnt matter work or play
"If its a mountain
She can crawl it
If its hay
Then she can haul it
Shes the last one to call it a day
"Every cowboy loves her
Lord, they all dream of her
Oh brother, don't they all react
"At the end of the evening
When they see my leaving
With my Cowboy Cadillac."
That's awesome. 'Course, there's more but that's my favorite verse.

steve earle's Home to houston is a great one. i wanna say its in refrence to all the kbr or other govt contract truck drivers there in iraq, or the middle east.
When I pulled out of Basra they all wished me luck
Just like they always did before
With a bulletproof screen on the hood of my truck
And a Bradley on my back door
And I wound her up and shifted her down
And I offered this prayer to my lord
I said “God get me back home to Houston alive
and I won’t drive a truck anymore”
Early in the mornin’ and I’m rollin’ fast
Haulin’ nine thousand gallons of high test gas
Sergeant on the radio hollerin’ at me
Look out up ahead here come a R.P.G.
If I ever get home to Houston alive
Then I won’t drive a truck anymore
I’ve driven the big rigs for all of my life
And my radio handle’s “Train”
Down steep mountain roads on the darkest of nights
I had ice water in my veins
And I come over here ‘cause I just didn’t care
Now I’m older and wiser by far
If I ever get home to Houston alive
Then I won’t drive a truck anymore
Great God A’mighty what was wrong with me
I know the money’s good but buddy can’t you see
You can’t take it with you and that ain’t no lie
I don’t wanna let ‘em get me I’m too young to die
If I ever get home to Houston alive
Then I won’t drive a truck anymore
When I pulled out of Basra they all wished me luck

david lynn jones, a song called Bonnie Jean ( little sister )
Peter built a truck for a man to drive, its a pretty good livin but it ain't no life. For a farmers daughter or a drunk man's wife, Peter built a truck for a man to drive.

But I think Pickup Man is my all time favorite. I for one will never be without a pickup truck. I just couldn't live like that.

Just came home from Christmas dinner at the parents, and grabbed all the old vinyl albums with all the old trucker tunes. Man what Memories!!!! I'm going to try to figure out how to put them into the 'puter, and link them.
10 albums (for you youngsters, thats what music used to come on)
Dave Dudley, Red Simpson, Dick Curless, C.W.McCall, Johnny Bond, Red Sovine, Del Reeves, Skeeter Davis, Willis Brothers, and others.
Give Me Fourty Acres to turn this rig around, Phantom 309, Wolf Creek Pass, Hello I'm a Truck, I ain't never been passed, Roll Truck Roll, Big Mack, Big Wheel Cannonball, just too many to name.

"Amarillo Sky"
Just kinda skimmed through posts, so I don't know if anyone has listed this song. Diesel is mentioned in the song, and it is all about tractors and farming, so plenty of diesel there. I am not a fan of newer country music, but at least I can relate very closely to the song.
"Papa loved Mama", thats a good song too! "that old diesel engine made an eerie sound when papa fired it up and headed into town!"
The metallica song about fuel and fire (not sure of title) is a good song too, and its the kind of music that I like!
