ARCO/BP ECD Low Sulfer Diesel

ECD Web Site

I just filled up with my first tank of low sulfer.

Has anyone else tried it and have you noticed a performance or fuel mileage difference?

Tank before this was a great 13.5 MPG hand calculated, I perfered the 15 MPG that the overhead showed. With 25,000 miles I was expecting to start seeing improvements.

You should probably use a lubricity additive with the low sulfur fuel.

Did they charge you more for the "privilege" of using the stuff?

Time to call a spade a spade.
We all are using low sulfur diesel, what you just tried is Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel or ULSD for short

Infidel, I know I'm at least burning LSD, or likely even ULSD right now in my CTD. My question is, once they "announce" that it is ULSD in 2006, are they going to charge a lot more for it?
One major refinery in Corpus already has already had their ULSD process functioning for some time now. One of the other major's just announced in the local paper that they are putting their process in now. They'll have to recoup that investment somehow.. I'm afraid I know how they'll do it.

Maybe they already have We can only hope that a small part of the ridiculous recent cost of diesel fuel is they've already started building in some of the cost of the ULSD conversion..
