Any Vegas diesel owners who have dealt with the new smog regs?

Hello,
I just moved to Las Vegas from Cali/Oregon,and just about fainted when I read about the new smog reg's in Clark county for Diesels. From what I've been able to understand on the NV DMV website,it looks like the test is about smoke. Can anyone tell me if they've passed the test with engine mods?I have a 02' Ram with stage III injectors,a 4" exhaust,AFE airbox, and an Edge EZ module. But with the heat and altitude here,I'm smoking like a chimney!I have moved the little chip inside the EZ to the #1 position, which has reduced my smoke by about 50%,but it still bellows out when I stand on it.I dont know if it will pass yet.Does anyone know if I replace the EZ with a Comp box,and set it for the lowest smoke setting, will I pass this test?I'd appreciate any first hand experiances anyone has.

i also just put my ez from 4 down to 1, but i dont't hardly see any smoke. Are you running the boost elbow? You might also upgrade the airbox.

Yes,I have the elbow.I'm running an AFE air intake.I've been told a lot of my problems with smoke are caused by a smaller turbo housing that Dodge put on their 02's.My friend has the same mods on his 99',with very little smoke.

I'm at about 5400', in Denver they allow 30% smoke max, my truck blew 4%, without any kind of fuel additive, I have found the power service really cuts down on the smoke if you aren’t running it already

Any truck stop should carry it, as well as Autozone's and Pep Boys.
If worse comes to worse, Evil-Walmart carries it as well.

The Petro station out by the speedway has Power Service, but I'm sure the Flying J at Cheyenne would have it too. There are also quite a few truck/heavy equipment shops in that area that would surely have some. If you are closer to the SW side, try the T/A at the 15 and Blue Diamond highway.

That's correct, driving a diesel in Kalifornia means no smog test.Of course the state has been sticking it to diesel owners with crazy fuel price increases for the last 6 months.even before the current national problems.I'll let everyone know how I make out with the test.
