The 6.5's use a rotary style injection pump and is a known weak link on both the 6.2 and 6.5 engines.
There could be several causes for the color smoke:
1) Timing could have moved. Im not sure on the 6.5, but the 6.2 pump has two different timings. One that can be adjusted and one that is built into the pump. The pump is bolted to the block with three bolts, these can be lossened and the pump can be rotated to change timing.
2) My 6.2 blew white/blue smoke when it developed a fuel leak inside the pump. Had to tear down the pump and found some o-ring had failed internaly in the pump.
3) White/blue could also be oil. This, I would think, would be noticeable through oil consumption.
There are probably many other areas to look into, but this would be a start.
Check the timing,
Check the over-all health of the pump,
Check all the fuel and injector lines for leaks and over-all condition.
Not sure about the noise your hearing in the AC.
Sure its just not the glow plugs cycling?
