2015 Cummins Turbo Diesel

Greetings everyone!

It has been awhile since I have posted on this site. I have sold my truck recently, and am considering purchasing a 2015 Dodge diesel.

My 2001.5 had some inherent issues: lift pump, dash cracking, A/C condenser cracks, etc.

Are there any known issues with the latest version of these trucks?

I would like to get the 3500 4X4 with SRW, short box with crew cab, automatic Trans. Are there any factory releases of this truck that are high performance?

Thanks!!

You can get 385/850 out of the box HO option now. Don't think there's any real issues with the new trucks. I wrote up the issues we had in extreme environments with a fleet in the Arctic. Wouldn't expect any of that in normal weather.
Don't go drive one unless you plan on breaking out the checkbook though, cause they are awesome!

Thank you for the replies. My 01 was pretty tall from the factory, and it looks like the 15's are even taller. That is great, can't wait to go test drive them. I am thinking about going over to Kellogg, ID to Dave Smith Motors. I bought my 2001 there, and they have the most Dodge diesel trucks that I have ever seen in one place.

Thanks for the input!

I haven't heard of any real issues with the '15's. Seems like they got the emissions stuff nailed down with the software updates in '14. Body wise everything seems to be good.

I'm kind of looking at the '15's myself.

Got it

Well, I made the journey to Dave Smith Motor Sports in Kellogg, and came home with a 2015 4x4 3500 Crew Cab Big Horn SWB. This truck is very nice! Most of the modifications that I did to my 2001.5 24 valve are already done on this model. Ram is pretty cool to listen and learn from the folks that have been modifying these trucks for heavy towing and the like. Mine came with integrated trailer brake controller with 4 presets, Exhaust brake, all gauges and monitoring. I haven't even opened up the throttle on this one yet, as it is still in break-in mode (in my mind anyway!).

Lovin' this truck!!

We have a couple 2015 5500 and the guys love them. Couple small issues that the dealer fixed right up. They pull like freight trains.
