2015

I am new to the site even though I have been reading since it's inception. Just curious if anyone out there has heard if the 2015's are going to catch up with Ford in the power department. Just ordered new fifth wheel and it is pushing the limits of my 2011 Fiord SWB. The new trailer pushes 19K and will need a dually. I do not want to give up any power that I have now

IIRC the 6.7 HO Cummins coupled to the Aisin auto has more torque than the Ford. Torque (at a lower RPM) is what you want for towing.

I have both a 6.7 power stroke and have had several 6.7 cummins. That 6.7 powerstroke pulls and has the best automatic out their.
I hated the Asian trucks that I test drove. Some people love the way they operate difference of opinion I guess. And I think it is a joke how much they want for it!!
2015 fords are going to have 440 hp and 860 tq. That is going to be a tuff truck to beat.

My only complaint on my new 2014 cummins is how much exhaust fluid it takes. About triple what the Ford takes!!

Good Lord! And I thought having 300hp and 650tq for towing was plenty!

P

I dunno, if you can't move it effectively with 800+ ft lbs of torque and 4.10 gears then maybe should step up to a semi!
I don't know if the med duty trucks even have much more snort than the new crop of pickups.

Kind of funny.

So the Ford superduty kicks preverbial ***, yes.

Yet when Ford needs real power in their commercial trucks like the 550, what do they use.

Oh yeh, a 6.7 CTD.

I'm not sure anything else needs to be said, do you?

Now I like Ford trucks and have owned a few, I'm really a Chevy guy but would never buy another Chev truck so I'm "stuck" with a Cummins Ram in the last 3 years I have had 2 Ford trucks (try) to pass me while I was towing heavy even though I don't hang around when on a long trip, the first got past me then blew up just past me and went for the shoulder, the other didn't make it past. Poor maintenance?? maybe, but perhaps I'll just stay "stuck" with my under powered, under rated yet still somewhat reliable Dodge product, seems to work for me.
