2014 1500 with the Motori V6, Is it worth it?

I'm curious if anyone knows why they went with the Motori instead of the 4BT. Seems like with so many parts in common it would be easier on the logistics side to stay in the Cummins family for the 1500s.

The govmn't ultimately drives those decisions. The 4BT's ship has sailed. Not EPA compliant. The VM engines are modern soot-free diesels.

Plus Fiat-Chrysler now owns VM so it's an "in-house" supplier (for better or for worse).

I think it's "worth" is entirely up to the buyer.

For me, if it gets 30mpg (or close to it) real-world on the highway then it would be worth it...

Considering the B series is available as an Iveco motor (with some differences), it would be an in-house supply, too. I think they should have stuck with the V6 and V8 that Cummins developed for them (but Nissan got).

I think that a whole lot more went into the decision that what we know or suppose, and it all involves the EPA and money. What seems logical to us isn't even on the table for them.

If I recall correctly, in the Truck of the Year award Motor Trend stated they got 28mpg "real world" on the highway. Maybe it was 26...

This half ton diesel, I swear all the magazie editors have been driving them for a year. Ram keeps pushing the release date back.

I got tired of waiting and bought another Jetta TDI
