2005 Jeep Liberty Diesel
2005 Jeep Liberty Diesel
Is this old news yet? Found the link on a Mercedes Benz Site. http://rockcrawler.com/features/news...05_liberty.asp
Yes, it's been discussed here often. The engine isn't a Mercedes diesel but is from VM out of Italy. Others have claimed it's a well made engine. Do a search on "liberty diesel" and you'll get a lot of info.
They have a some info on the Jeep site now.

Won't be available in CA, MA, ME, NY, or VT. Where have we heard that before?
Boyd.

Yep. It appears that the automakers can't meet the '04 emission standards for diesels under 8500 gvw in these states. First it was the VW TDI's, then the MB E300, and now the Liberty. We'll see what happens when the 2006 low sulfer fuel comes out.
