Question Dealer Service

Is it just me or are dealers just not staffed with enough Diesel techs. I 've been to 2 different dealers and both only have 1 Diesel tech who seem to be so busy they don't want to diagnose warranty issues. The first dealer said vibration was due to running close to redline in tow/haul. Obviously didn't drive the truck because that is 2400 rpm at 60mph. The second had it for three hours and said they would need it all day to look further.

One is better than the none that many dealers have.
I've heard good things about the dealer in Escondito, not too far from you.
Use this website to check out a dealer before you go-

Well if I ever get to Escondito I might check them out but that is at least 120 miles from my house. I think Shelby/Murphy Dodge will be my next try about 1/2 way between home and work.

Lets see.....cars have 3/36 warranty, Cummins diesel has 5/100. Doesn't take an accountant to figure out which one you want to specialize in.

I was thinking you were further south but now realize you're near Lancaster. I had warranty trouble in '96 in Lancaster while on vacation, was very unhappy with the dealer there. Back then they didn't even stock diesels on their lot, said no one wanted them.
The consensus from my years at TDR was that the dealers in Ventura county aren't worth a hoot either, Bakersfield is worse. The dealer in Long Beach and the one in Cerritos got high marks though.

I used to have a lot of work done at Frahm Dodge in Norco. They were fast and did top notch work. At the time I was running eight diesel Rams.

I'm actually in Lake Elizabeth on the hill just west of the golf course, the post office is in Lake hughes and we have to put that or it takes an extra week for mail to come if it doesn't get returned. Yeah the tech at Hunter said the vibration was due to runnin too close to redline in tow/haul 2800rpm redline is 3000rpm. He obviously didn't drive the truck cause 60mph in tow/haul is 2400rpm and red lines on the tach start at 3200. Tried Valencia last week for the 7500 mi service tech said he didn't see anything unusual and would need it all day to check further. When the porter brought the truck out there were greasy fingerprints around the hood and water splashed all over the truck which was washed the day before I just left before I wound up in jail. Funny thing driving home the vibration was 50% better, switched to Rotella t this oil change and had them change the fuel filter I wonder if the vibration could be a fueling issue? katoiler which dealer do you use?

I have always been happy with Jack Powell in Escondido. I'm on my second diesel truck from them. I have all my service work done there. I'm too lazy to change my own oil.
