1996 ford diesel HELP

I bought a 96 Ford dump. I am having a problem with it stalling. It will stall at any time, idle, driving-normal and heavy accel. Any thoughts?

Could the cam sesor too. Assuming it is a PSD, and not either a Cummins or Cat.

I had a 93 7.3 IDI Injection system with the Rotary Injection Pump. If you have this engine and not Direct Injection, not up on anything from Ford except my ole 93, Check the fuel return system. If it backs up it will shut down the engine.

Pull the hose off the front of the fuel injection pump and the fitting it attaches to. Crank the engine and catch some of the fuel coming out. See if it has debris in it. If so the pump is coming apart inside. Check the fitting you pulled off and see if it is stopped up.

Maybe this won't apply to your engine, don't know. That was the last ford I ever owned, been cummin along ever since.
