im not real familiar w/ the 12v 5.9, but ive been wondering will a newer g56 transmission work behind it? I imagine it will, ive never heard of somthing like that being done before though. The reason im asking is myself and a few of my pals and i were talking trucks and we agreed a well tuned 12v gets pretty decent fuel mileage, and we just figured w/ a 6speed it would be better, cause of the reduced rpm's, thanx for any info

The G56 6speed actually has less overdrive than a getrag or an NV, meaning the rpms are actually higher in overdrive than a different stick.
