Well right now there isn't alot of truck to talk about, kinda top secert. Kinda like area 51, people know and see, but... no pictures

Looks like R&D going on, but its more like just trying to figuring stuff out than anything. Well at least I got a race city truck (car) number.

The truck is set-up very basic. I think that we are only going to run 6-8 relay panel. The engine is still up in the air what we are building. I want to run a newly designed head, but its been delayed some. The short block, well that no secert it will be either a 5.9 or 6.7 short block. Like I said very basic simple stuff

I expect a ton of progress has been made since I saw it-but I couldn't keep the grin off my face walking around it and looking. Gonna be wicked when it's done. Might be over that way next weekend-if so I might stop around for another look-see....

I just ordered a few more parts, so it might start to look like something. Might have to do a power build-up on that motor I scooped from you buddy. I'm hoping that we get the 4-link welded in soon.

Me too. The T6 flange I ordered will be divided. Didn't know whether to order divided or nondivided.
I figure I can smooth the divider to aid flow into the scrolls. ??
I got 2, T3 flanges coming. I hope to weld them together and make a ED gated flange of sorts.....

LOL na my computer took a dump and had a few other setbacks during the winter. Still above ground and things are turning around so all is well. Nice to see some old faces and some new ones in the forum. Great to be back!

Welcome back Rob, seen you driving around town a few times. We should hook-up one day and I'll give you a walk thru. Pulled the head off of one of my 98 12v's today, man its ugly ugly city going on inside. #5 piston is melt down into the piston ring lands, parts of broken rings was . I'm going to pull apart four different series of engines, just to find out which parts are the lightest. I want to build-up a screamer of an engine.

Steve, good work buddy. I just used nondivided T6 flange on my twins? You getting drill and tapped flange or a raw flange? I would build an exhaust manifold and run an external gate, than run the ED drill exhaust flange adapter. I just bought a seat, five point belts, nylon mesh for the windows, kinda boring but needed to keep the build alive. I have to order pistons, gearbox cover, adjustable timing gear, next week. My 24v head is cracked, so I have to find something different.

For 26 USD I imagine its just a raw flange with holes. I can tap easily enough. I'm just curious to see well the opening will fit with a 3" sched 40 elbow.

Told you it got toasty on that cylinder.....PO told me it just started shaking and missing when he started it one day. I suspect that it was doing a lot of shaking, rattling and rolling before he shut it off. The piston matches up well with the rare canted exhaust valve option though. The other 5 look pretty good IIRC. We actually fired up and ran for 30 seconds or so right after we got the truck before we decided to dig a little deeper.

There is even slag thats kinda welded into the top of the exhaust port from that piston. We think that there was a injector issue. I was hoping for an quicky ball hone/new piston fix-up. A few of the valves are sunk, which is purfect for oversizing the valve. Not a biggie, it all can be fixed-up at a late date. I have a pretty clean old VE 5.9 CTD, sitting on the floor. I want to pull everything apart from the VE engine, 98 P pump engine, 01 VP engine and my 03 CR engine, just to find the lightest parts for my build-up. Just a quick look at the rods in my VE engine, we can mill off an easy 0.1in off the bottom balance pad. Bunch of meat in the side of rod needs to go. Same goes for the piston balance pad. The Airdrie Sunk Works team have alot to get done to go racing this year. I plan to weigh the crank as well as the rods/pistons. I'll take pictures for a show and tell later on. Brett and I noticed that the piston bowl is quite different between the 98 engine and the VE engine. I had lots of fun watching Brett attaching the four link to the front clip. Two steps forward and four backwards. Originally I just wanted to run my 01 24V with a worked P pump conversion
