used trans fluid?
used trans fluid?
anybody tried filtering used transmission fluid and mixing it 50% with diesel on a 05 5.9? i know some ford guys with 04 and 05 and they been diong it for 20000 miles and no problems. dont know if it will work on the dodge 05.
ATF is formulated NOT to burn, and has friction additives in it.
It can cause buildup in the cylinder heads and on the valves.
And the friction additives can cause additional wear in the injection system.
I'd look for a better alternative to this in my tank.

Search the for threads on 2 stroke oil in your fuel. Tons of info out there. In short summary most guys have found the wal mart brand supertech tcw3 marine 2 stroke oil to be the best cheap fuel additive for lubricity. It works best in the older 1st and 2nd gen trucks but some of these common rail 3rd gen trucks seem to like it ok, and some dont. A ratio of 128:1 or about 1 quart of 2 stroke for every fillup is typical. I've run it in mine and it seemed to do just fine no problems but I quit doing additives. Just too much hassle and there's too many people around running straight fuel forever with zero problems.
