Trucker Strike

I haven't heard about it but I certainly would believe it. I hope it benefits all of us with lower prices. The economy runs on diesel with the price combined with the worse fuel mileage of new trucks (thanks EPA) it's a double slam on the pocket book.

Lets hope so. Somehow we have to get reality back to the billion dollar oil companies. Even Vasaline is petroleum based!! So they got ya any way you slice it.

That's funny Lil dog. I saw a hand written sign on the back of a truck going through Birmingham yesterday. All I could make out was something about a strike but I couldn't tell when.

Well I went camping this weekend and two gas station attendants heard it and I heard a few truck talking about it over the CB on I44. Also a few people at the campground had heard about it.

I'll put money saying it doesn't happen. If independents don't haul it, a fleet WILL haul it. At that point, it will be difficult for the independent to find future work. I've been in middle management for a tanker truck company for the last 14 years. Trust me, we and others that I know will NOT be striking. Too many darn bills to pay.
EDIT: Besides, the trucking industry isn't being effected too much with higher fuel prices. They, as we do, add a fuel sur-charge anywhere from 9% to 19% depending on the actual customer. So the end product or service is what will dramaticly effected.

only the owner/operators are getting squeezed, so they would be the only ones inclined to strike. btw, when did a million gay, black women march together?

i think it would be possible that there could be a backlash against the owner/ops, when companies realized that there would be a week delay in getting their shipments. that could result in those people only using fleets from now on, to avoid the possibility of it happening again. btw, i don't see how you are going to get a million gay, black women to march over this, as i don't think it's a gay, black women's issue- jmho.
