Good Lord. Pick on some elderly folks who probably draw a joke of a check from social security. They just want have all the money. And to think, someone down the street is selling meth to some kids but they caught veggie oil man. What a crock

gotta pay for the war somehow. But this is rediculous, wheres the president with all his alternative fuel speeches? Now there threatening people who use alternative fuels because it isn't controlled by the government's pocket....yet.

I also find it wrong that they can tax a car everytime it gets sold. I think it should only be the first 2 times or somthing. don't mean to get sidetracked here..

When they inquire about my processor I will simply tell them that they have it all wrong. "That's my meth lab!" I'm sure their are probably less penalties.

They should send special agent May to secure the Mexican border. That way he will end up in jail when he does his job.

Anybody here follow that thread at all? I am sorry that I did. Those guys got into a running battle on law, taxes, etc. etc. and missed the whole point of the original post. Now my head hurts. I am thankful that most people around these parts are a little more civilized.

We need to keep this news story from turning into a political fight. The story itself is very unpolitical. The criminal investigator choose to pursue this case out of his own motivation, and there is not a clear political association. He is not acting on behalf of the president or any energy policies.

It is a shame that he choose this particular case instead of the many more malicious crimes that exist. Are people that drive electric cars criminals for not paying road taxes? I see a major change to road tax laws in the future. Maybe we will be paying for the mile someday.

I agree. I always figured the govt would start stickin' their fingers into "renewable fuels" once things got rolling. Its a shame about the elderly couple- couldn't they find something better to do with their time?

That's a good point. If I have a regen. system on a vehicle, and/or I plug it in at night to charge the battery, are they gonna tax me on my electric bill?

I understand that they "use" the money for road improvements/maint. But it seems to me that we should be trying to wean ourselves from foreign fuels. Making an old man who is doing what many other people should be doing a scapegoat won't help.
