Around here we've been up to about 4.75; 2 weeks ago my "go to" store dropped to 4.35 and been there since; everywhere else, still the same; nice drop, but not where it should be; sucks.

place down the street says 4.99. I curse a bit and keep driving. About 20min from here is a big place and they had it for 4.69. Thats a pretty big difference. Wonder whats with that??
The other thing is the 4.99 place wants me to put in my zip code when I use my CC. What, Im a suspected crook now too? Geez.

That's to help protect you against crooks.
They would have to know what zip you live in to fuel up with your card.

I prefer personal responsibility to measures that irritate legitimate consumers like myself.
I just see this stuff as an escalation of crooks versus establishment with the average consumer stuck in the middle, suffering the consequences of the actions of both groups. kinda like software piracy and all the crazy activation and registration schemes out there now.
You know youre legally entitled to a backup copy of your software? Well if its on a protected CD you cant copy it without breaking the law. Uhhhh..

Ill go to the gas station that doesnt make me feel like a criminal.

I just have to fill the truck up that much. Others in the fleet get filled more often.

The lower one for me, is a Wilco with a Hess. It's farther from I95 behind some trees. Maybe that's why, I dunno. The higher is a Cisco (the same cisco that got banned from selling gas after they were shorting their customers on pumped fuel (had the agri inspector on their payroll), and just reopened under new ownership).

Depends where I go, I have to do the billing zipcode also. It's just another check to see if that card is you, without the picture ID.

Everytime I am asked in a store to show ID while using my CC or having to put in a Zip code I am very thankful. About the time my wallet gets stolen or I lose my card ( Has never happened) and someone wants a shop[ping spree, I am very happy.

x2
I actually like to have people ask for my picture ID or enter my zip code while getting liquid gold at the pump. I have even tried to enter a wrong zip code on purpous just to make sure it works and it does.
