Power Service vs Stanadyne (Round 1)

I have been reading Forums in this fuel section for about 3 days now trying to find what the best all around single additive is and I keep hearing about the 2 Biggies which are Power Service and Stanadyne.

I want to hear everybodys opinion that reads this post, on what they run and why they run it, and any hard cold physical evidence of the benefits of running this stuff, especially in the long run.

I know that when I get my truck very soon, I will have a bottle of something in my hand at every fill up. Now DTR members, let me here your trials and tribulations for the best Fuel additive on the market, may the best Additive win!!!

i've used both, depends on where I am shopping and how soon I need it. no noticeable difference. I know that PS is about $2 a bottle less than stanadyne.

Power service is much easier to find locally where I live. I have been using it for 54,000 miles with great results. My truck always gets better mpg and runs quieter on PS. I'm sure that stanadyne is great also because my father uses it in his boat and it helped clear up some fuel system issues that he was having.

I run PS, I am sure it makes a little difference, but not really sure since i have been running it since day 1. Hard to tell, but neither can hurt.

i notice a difference with and without using treatment, just not between brands. I put 10k on it before I got smart. Without using treatment, if it had been a few weeks since pulling the trailer, the injectors and motor would be louder, and run rougher, after pulling all of the junk had burned off and all is well. now using treatment, it never gets junky.

I'm using Stanadyne only because that is the only fuel additive that my Dodge dealer sells. I did use the p/s-mmo mix for a while. I'm sticking with the Stanadyne because it is approved by other truck builders (no names) and it is sold at my Dodge dealer.
My service tech said there will never be an issue with the warranty using Stanadyne and Truck runs smoother and quieter with it.

Power Service Silver because it's cheap, readily available, and definitely makes a measurable difference.

Of course, I do cut it with acetone...

I buy it in the 5 gallon pail from the local Diesel Injection Service shop. (~$145.00)

Compare the brands:

I use Power Service since it's much easier to find. Walmart and Tractor Supply Co. is my two sources.

Hino=no additive

I've used Standyne or P.S. in my Dodge for seven years now. Conversely,I've driven a '92 Hino four cylinder cabover for 230,000 miles. It's never had a drop of additive and runs like the day it was assigned to me. Allison auto has been trouble free too. Toyota's coming out with their fullsized truck in Feb. I hope Chrysler wakes up and starts honoring their warranty and researching their products more thoroughly, thus avoiding warranty claims. We want to buy American and our companies need to give us a reason to support them. Pardon my rant and now back to your regularly scheduled program.

Forget those, do your truck a favor and use Fuel Power:

Howes Meaner Deisel Kleaner

I've used Howes and P.S. and I could only see a significant difference using the Howes.
