What No decrees in usage? Where has this guy had his head buried, in the sand? There has been a few reports out about the drop in fuel usage here in the USA. People are losing there jobs and the higher cost has people cutting back any place they can. I too had to cut out a few nice words about the dummy and his we can afford $7.00 gas and that would mean $8.00 for diesel grrrrrrrr. I guess the talking heads will say anything they can to get the price of gas and oil higher then it is already

Well the truth is, we can handle $7 fuel imo. We just gotta drive more efficient vehicles. Yes our quality of life will decrease a little but then it will just start to become like other countries.

Well you may be able to afford $7.00 gas but I know a lot of people who can't and they have cars that can get 25 mpg or better. There is no reason for our oil or gas to be sold to other countries our oil should stay right here where it came from. To me its crazy that you can get our diesel we export to Mexico cheaper then what it sells for here in the US.

Diesel this morning in my little nowhere town - $4.40.9/gal

When I travel south toward the border I always take a bunch of 5gal fuel cans and fill them up. Lat trip was something like $1.89.9/gal

Good old American made fuel too. We are being ripped off big-time people.

the price of fuel in mexico is misleading, because pemex (the largest oil company in mexico) is state run, and is posting billions of $$$ in losses. the state run oil company subsidizes the price of fuel, and is the reason for the cheap prices at the pump.

Yes it is state run and they are loses big $$$ but the fact is you can buy USA diesel cheaper in Mexico then you can in the USA. If we kept our diesel here our prices would not be so darn high as there would be a bigger supply here to keep it lower. IMHO the oil companies should not be allowed to export US crude oil or related products if it will cause a big rise in our cost or put a hard ship on our economy. I mean it is our (the people of the USA) oil right?

I'm all for keeping US oil in the US. But, you gotta remember we also import a ton of oil. If we decide to import, it's only fair to export as well. Otherwise, other countries will play tough and won't sell us their oil either. Or, even if they continue importing oil, it would be much more expensive for us to buy since they'd have a smaller supply as they would export to countries we decided not to sell to. Either way prices will really go high. That's just my logic.

the sickest part of this whole thing is these OIL companies ALL just reported first quarter profits in the billions---example petro canada just reported 8 billion first quater --what a **** off--and fuel prices are going no were but UP.

HA HA HA... Heck no! This really stinks. I don't go on pointless joyrides anymore and when I plan on going on a little vacation, the fuel is usually the main thing to consider now, not the hotel room. The economy is a mess and I think God is mad because there has been chaos all over the world (Myanmar, tornados, volcanos, earthquakes, etc.).

I don't like the prices of fuel, but people need to figure out the difference between profit and profit margins. Sure the oil companies posted a higher profit than ever before, but their profit margins are still the same % wise. The reason profit is up so much is the cost per barrel of crude is up which has to do (some what) with the dollar getting to be a weaker form of currency. Before you blame the oil companies, the governemnt makes more per gallon of gas than the oil companies do. In my opinion it is the sorry policies of the democrat party dealing with the economy that are making the dollar weaker and are helping the price per barrel sky rocket. Just remember all the places those dang tree huggers won't let us drill even though they say that we should become less dependent on foreign. Kind of hard to do that if they won't let us drill.
