Methyl Alcohol, Methanol, Nitro Methane....

Because the names are different, this methyl alcohol that is in windsheild washer fluid as good as mixing my own pure methanol. Also trying to do a little research on nitro methane, and from what I can gather, it does not mix well with other fuels. Does it seperate out? Just trying to maybe add a little nitro methane. From what I have seen there is someone who had a 50% water 48% Methanol and 2% Nitro Methane.

Doesn't answer your questions but lots of folks use washer fluid injection to lower egts.
The colder the fluid is rated for the better.
Surprisingly the -40°F fluid we get in the northern states isn't even sold the further south you go.

I was just about to post that. I use methanol in large quantities. Don't use it on the truck though...

If you are looking for a methanol source, get heet gas line dryer in the yellow bottles. I e-mailed them, and they said that it was 97-98%.

I use this in my water/meth, not in my fuel...

That gets quite expensive though, better off finding a place that sells racing fuel as it tends to be quite a bit cheaper for 100% methanol.

True, but I don't run it unless I'm at the track.

Straight water works great for daily stuff.

Must be an easy way to remove the water from washer fluid.
I buy it all the time on sale for 99¢/gal.
That would get the price close to $2/gal.
Not sure if that's good or not.

There is no easy way to remove the water from the washer fluid as Methanol is hygroscopic. Also, I doubt that the washer fluid has 50% methanol in it ( as that would give you a -60F protection), and that gets expensive. Most washer fluids contain between 35% and 45% methanol.

it could be distilled, but its still not easy.
I distill the extra methanol from my glycerin.
