I got a small 'fooler' box that tells the ecm all is well with regards to the DPF.
I could put an Edge box on that clears the codes at start up but the engine light does not bother me. I can clear codes at start up with my code reader and as long as I hit the open road asap...the engine light stays off but once I am idling and slow driving...it comes back on. They are soft codes so the truck stays operable...no limp mode. Well worth it. The exhaust change I did with getting rid of the dpf gave me a real nice tone...not a drone and not loud.
I have no black smoke either. I did get smoke when I had only done the dpf and the PCV. After the EGR fell off...no more smoke. MPG gains were impressive.
