LSD (Low Sulfur Diesel)
I’m thinking about getting a tank full of LSD. How much trouble can I get into for running this on the street?
How would they even check for it?

Running LSD is only illegal in engines made after Jan 2007.
Highly doubt there is anyone checking though but it would be self defeating anyways on a newer truck because the LSD can clog up the smog system.

For trucks that you show LSD would be better for them IMO.
It can be found. Check truck stops like Flying J, Loves, Pilot, TA, their web sites often will show who still has LSD. We used LSD on out 2002 on the trip from AZ to Houston TX. Found it at trucks stops. You pull in with the 18 wheelers. Some stations don't like it, but so what you are the customer.
Had a Citco here in NW houston I got LSD from untill it was rebranded to Chevron.

All my smog stuff fell off and I can net just slightly better mpg when towing. Otherwise I have not noticed a huge difference. I get mine at the Flying J in Gary IN. Only 6840 miles before I hit 100K on my 6.7. Nothing major repaired or replaced. Better mpg then my 07 5.9 with the alterations and no power mods.
