How long do you purge your veggy oil?

Hey guys, this is for those of you who have converted to veggy oil... How long do you let the lines purge before you shut down. I'm trying to decide if it will be worth doing a conversion for my 28 mile (one way) commute to work this summer. Any thoughts on this?

This depends on how your setup was done. If you have a looped return it will take as long as the motor needs to burn whats in the loop. couple minutes?
If you have a straight feed and return it takes longer to heat but its a very fast switchover. purging of one minute might be overkill.
You can install a sight glass from mcmaster-carr with a couple barb fittings to see when the transition is made. You could put something like two stroke oil in the veg to help you see when the switch is made. A sight glass is real useful in spotting air bubbles from leaks. If you do use one, be careful where you mount it and that you keep a section of aluminum tube of the same diameter in the truck in case it pops when youre on the road.

running WVO is best for long hauls.
if it's warm, you might just want to mess w/ mixing.
